Senior Software Engineer
We're building the first AI-native PMS. We need a builder.
Traditional property management software is a dead end. Operators are stuck with legacy tools designed for a world that no longer exists. Powerhouse is changing that — we're three years in, pivoting hard into a product that's genuinely AI-native from the ground up.
Not AI-sprinkled. Not a chatbot bolted on the side. AI in the architecture, the data layer, the user experience. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who builds the way good engineers do: with taste, urgency, and the kind of curiosity that keeps you reading Hacker News at midnight not because you have to, but because you want to.
What you'll be doing
You'll work directly alongside our CEO and Head of Innovation — which means you're not waiting for specs to land in your backlog. You're in the room where product decisions get made. You'll bring your own perspective on what we should build, how it should work, and where we're leaving value on the table. In practice:
- ✓Own and ship full-stack features across a modern Next.js + React + TypeScript codebase.
- ✓Design and build AI-powered workflows using Vercel AI SDK, managed Anthropic agents, and async job scheduling.
- ✓Work with a multi-tenant Postgres data layer (Drizzle ORM, row-level security) and Salesforce integration (SOQL, live + cron auth).
- ✓Keep LLM quality observable — you'll work with Langfuse for tracing and OpenTelemetry for spans.
- ✓Co-create the product as you build it: you're not just an executor, you're a co-creator.
Who you are
You have 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience, but what matters more than the number is the instinct. You know the difference between code that ships and code that scales. You've done both. You're the kind of engineer who:
- ✓Builds things to understand them — not just to complete the ticket.
- ✓Reads about AI, agents, and LLMs because it genuinely interests you, not because it's in your OKRs.
- ✓Has opinions about product — and the courage to voice them early.
- ✓Thrives in a startup environment where priorities shift and you're expected to help set them.
- ✓Has shipped SaaS products and understands what it takes to keep them healthy at scale.
Bonus points
- ✓SaaS product experience (especially B2B, multi-tenant architecture).
- ✓Hands-on with AI agents, prompt engineering, or LLM evaluation pipelines.
- ✓Salesforce development experience.
- ✓Exposure to PropTech, co-living, or real estate operations.
